School Resource Officer

Welcome to the School Resource Officer page on the Highlands Police Department Web Site. The Highlands Police Department School Resource Officers (SROs) serve as a comprehensive resource to Henry Hudson Regional School. HPD hopes to have a full time SRO assigned to Henry Hudson Regional School beginning in September 2007. Our SROs are specifically trained to perform three roles. 

1. Law Enforcement Officer
2. Law-Related Counselor
3. Law- Related Education Teacher

The SROs are not necessarily trained in DARE (Although our SROs are DARE Officers) they are not Security Guards, or officers who have been placed temporarily in the school in response to a crisis situation, but rather acts as a comprehensive resource for his/ her school. The Highlands Police Department enjoys a great working relationship with the Administration, Faculty and Board of Education at Henry Hudson Regional School.
