Twin Lights

Twin Lights In late May, 2005 the Highlands Garden Club was honored with a request from Twin Lights Historic Site Curator, Mr. Tom Laverty, to design and plant the Twin Lights Lighthouse flower beds. By early June a comprehensive proposal was presented to Mr. Laverty for the renovation of several significant planting sites located around the Lighthouse grounds.

Only the flower beds from the Gift Shop to the Lens House and the rock garden were addressed that year. The Highlands Garden Club members turned soil and planted annuals and perennials around the most public side of the Lighthouse. By mid-June all planting was completed and the maintenance turned over to the Parks' grounds crew. Among the flowers used at the site is a variety of Shasta daisy, "Becky" planted in honor of Becki Laverty, who beautifully designed and planted the Parks' flower beds in past years. We hope you enjoy the floral displays while visiting the Twin Lights on Lighthouse Drive in Highlands.
