This Committee's Projects

Marketing incentives and advertising campaigns are among the many projects coordinated under the Marketing Committee. The committee is focusing on an agressive and unified ad campaign promoting our unique anchor businesses such as 25 eating establishments in a 0.64 square mile. Destinations such as Sandy Hook with 2.5 million annual visitors and Historic Twin Lights with over 150,000 visitors are target areas that this comitteee pays special attention to. Projects such as the Annual Visitor Guide, Media Advertising, Ferry Coupon Books, eCoupons, free access to Highlands Website and database, and Free PR are among the focus of this Marketing Committee.

Special Events, like the Clam Festival, create a destination for visitors and customers and promote Highlands as a place for activity, recreation and fun.  The high volume of hits on the highlandsnj.com web site for this annual event reflects what an impact special events have on Highlands as a destination.  Events put Highlands on the map as a point of destination along with the great tourist attraction of our neighbors - Twin Lights Historic Site and Gateway National Park at Sandy Hook. 

Event planning by this HBP Committee will work together with the Marketing and Communications Committee to balance the event with the needs of the business community at large.  Expansion of events will draw more visitors and customers while at the same time creating moderate to substantial hardship on some businesses and residents.  Fine tuning the balance will be the challenge for this committee.
